The Kiro was on its way to transport duetrillium to the Twilight to repair the primary hull when it was hijacked by Grimlock and a team of Autobots. They intended to use the shuttle to get past Cybertronian security so they could plant a bomb in the Cybertronian flagship. The plan seemed to work, until the Autobots parked the Kiro inside the Twilight and got out to find a good chunk of the Cybertronian army on duty as surprise unwelcoming committee.
