- The hangar is a Decepticon operations center from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The hangar is located on the grounds of a commercial airport. It is one of many, distinguished only by the fact the Decepticons decided to make it one of their extra bases. How come the airport staff didn't notice one of their hangars was occupied or that there were military jets flying on and off is a mystery for the ages.
Fiction

Following a failed attempt to steal the Ultra Plane blueprints, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave returned to the hangar. Coincidentally, the hangar was located at the airport Spike, Carly and Bumblebee had to go to to pick up Sparkplug Witwicky. Spike spotted military jets, Thundercracker and Thrust, enter the hangar and got suspicious. He and Bumblebee investigated and found out about the Decepticon base. Upon warning Optimus Prime, the Autobot leader sent the Dinobots to assist at the airport.
