In ancient times, Cybertron was led by the [[Thirteen]] who each led one of the [[Thirteen Tribes]] on the planet. These tribes were engaged in warfare with one another with the Citadel of Light being the home of Onyx Prime along with his bestial Transformers. When the Primes disappeared, Onyx Prime was the last of their number to vanish with his former Citadel being under siege by forces that included [[Nova Prime|Nova Major]]. After breaking into the Citadel of Light, Nova Major along with [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] and [[Galvatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Galvatron]] sought to forge a new world now that the time of the Primes had ended. {{storylink|The Crucible}}

When [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] arrived shortly after, and revealed to Nova his true identity, the trio set off for Kalis to discover if Onyx had fled like Prima.

In ancient times, Cybertron was led by the Thirteen who each led one of the Thirteen Tribes on the planet. These tribes were engaged in warfare with one another with the Citadel of Light being the home of Prima and his followers. When the Primes began disappearing, Onyx Prime sent his forces to destroy Prima's citadel. Prima had already fled and only Nova Major and Eucryphia (who died quickly) were left to defend the Citadel. Nova was soon joined by Galvatron and the two beat back the beasts and forged a long friendship. The battle left the Citadel greatly damaged. When Alpha Trion arrived shortly after, and revealed to Nova his true identity, the trio set off for Kalis to discover if Onyx had fled like Prima.
