Fiction

IDW Beast Wars comics

Megatron's first attempt at creating a complete Dinobot clone yielded a Transmetal (as opposed to a Transmetal 2). Unlike the final version, however, this clone would have been powered by an artificial spark created by Tarantulas. When said spark failed to graft, this prototype was scrapped. • Dinobot (Happy Meal Transmetal, 1998)
    • McNumber:
Transmetal Dinobot was officially repurposed as an initial prototype of Dinobot's evil clone, Dinobot II, via the Beast Wars Sourcebook.
Part of the second McDonald's Beast Wars Happy Meal promotion, Transmetal Dinobot transforms into a robotic Velociraptor. To tie in with the chrome plastic gimmick of the retail Transmetal toys, parts of his beast mode are cast in glittery metallic plastic. Like the other McDonald's toys from this assortment, he shares nothing in common with his previous body other than alternate mode choice.
