Anti-grav manacles are a restraining mechanism from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Some days, things don't go as planned and you end up captured by the enemy. Those days you won't remember as good ones. Some of those days, fate isn't done with you yet and you end up held in anti-grav manacles. Those days you will want to forget about. If the uncomfortable and embarrassing position the device forces its victim in isn't bad enough, anti-grav manacles can be made to kill the person they hold. And yes, the Autobots use them too.

Anti-grav manacles appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

The Autobots placed their captive Scourge in anti-grav manacles to bring him along to a prisoner exchange for Galvatron's captive Jazz. To ensure Galvatron wouldn't do anything funny at least until the trade was over, the Autobots had programmed the manacles to fry Scourge if he wouldn't keep his pledge. Jetfire threatened with this at the exchange and added that it could just as well have been Galvatron himself in the manacles, since they 'beat Scourge easily'. Galvatron was suitably sceptic but 'kept his part of the bargain', presumably taking not too long to free Scourge from his predicament afterwards. Target: 2006
