| The name or term "Megazarak" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Megazarak (disambiguation). |
- Megazarak is a Decepticon from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family (via the 2003 Universe franchise).

Completely without mercy or fear, Megazarak is responsible for the near-annihilation of the Autobots in his timestream, including their Optimus Prime. He amassed a small army of loyal followers—among them Caliburn, Sunstorm, Dreadwind, and Smokejumper—and tore through Cybertron in a genocidal war unprecedented in this Cybertron's history... and most other Cybertrons, in fact. The surface of the planet is littered with the remains of Autobot and Decepticon alike, but mostly Autobot. He has nearly obliterated the planet, leaving only his followers and a tiny handful of straggling Autobot resistance fighters lurking deep within the planet.
Even though Cybertron is effectively his, Megazarak has not relented. He has become obsessed with one prize that has eluded his grasp; the Autobot Matrix, hidden by the slain Matrix-bearer, and left in the care of the "Last Autobot" Defensor.[1]
Megazarak's evil spread beyond even his own dimension. When he killed his reality's Optimus Prime, he left his victim's chassis—and the Matrix within—to corrode on the shores of the Rust Sea. In time, this would become the cloning source for the malevolent Herald of Unicron, Nemesis Prime.[2]

In Viron 704.31 Epsilon, Megazarak came to power after Megatron's death on Earth. Scourge was his main rival but Megazarak pretended to back down, then poisoned the guy and turned him into a loyal warrior, Toxitron. Building on this, he turned Megatron's corpse into the undead Megabolt, hoping to gain control of Brave Maximus; and used the Robo-Smasher to convert the Build Team and Team Bullet Train into his slaves. Sky-Byte left his army in disgust and took the Predacon Trio with him.
His rampage against the Autobots was aided in part by the disappearance of many of Optimus Prime's soldiers as a result of Unicron abducting them to fight in the Universe War. Although some of Megazarak's own soldiers were abducted as well, Megazarak ultimately vanquished his opposition and almost all Autobots were left dead. Eventually, he fought Defensor in final battle... and also Sky Byte, who led his old team in support of the Autobot!
In another universe, Megazarak killed Optimus Prime, providing Unicron with the source for Nemesis Prime. It all ended in tears for him when Tornedron and the Hytherion ate the reality he'd messed up. Take that, MZ! Ask Vector Prime
Universe comic

Megazarak and Caliburn delved deep into Cybertron in search of the Oracle, which Megazarak believed would give him the location of Base Sigma, the last pocket of Autobot resistance, and the hiding place of the Matrix. Only the Oracle's ancient caretaker Ultra Trion stood in his way, but not for long.
Megazarak simply batted Ultra Trion aside, but when the guardian continued to attack, Megazarak quickly grew tired of the distraction and obliterated the ancient Autobot. But the Oracle wasn't in its ancient chamber anymore, delaying Megazarak's final victory yet again. Shell Game
Toys
Universe
- Megazarak with Caliburn Mini-Con figure (Ultra, 2004)
- Accessories: 3 missiles
- Megazarak was an exclusive toy from OTFCC 2004. He is a purple, red, black, and electric blue redeco of Armada Megatron, transforming into a Cybertronic tank. He retains almost all of the gimmicks of the retail releases; the electronic lights and sounds were removed for cost concerns. He came with the "Micromaster" Caliburn.
Notes
- Megazarak was part of an aborted plan for a Transformers Generation 3. He was originally conceived as a new form for the original Megatron (as his colors, particularly in robot mode, loosely imply) under the name "Chaos Megatron", after the specific color of black used, but Hasbro did not allow 3H to use the character.[3] Thus, he was renamed after the Japanese version of Scorponok.
