Clockwise is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Clockwise is hardy, which makes a good match for a clingy teammate. He is an expert in electronic intelligence and transforms into a RADAR emplacement.

Fiction

Marvel The Transformers comics

Longtooth's comrade appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

In a great Decepticon offensive on the Autobots, Longtooth was among the few survivors and held on to Clockwise, begging him to not die so that he wouldn't be alone. An observing Optimus Prime, misunderstanding Longtooth's words for that of altruism, gave Longtooth a piece of the Creation Matrix so that Clockwise would be healed.

It turned out that Clockwise healed just fine on his own, anyway, and Longtooth kept the Matrix piece all to himself. Whose Lifeforce Is It Anyway?

Transformers Comic-Magazin

Template:TransformersComicMagazin Clockwise reported on the Decepticons bringing a hundred-meter long pipeline into position, and wondered why the Decepticons would build the largest laser cannon in the universe, since firing it at any location on Earth would be as dangerous to the Decepticons as to the Autobots. Transformers in Action: Shockwave's Galactic Secret

Notes

  • Who is Clockwise in the Comic-Magazin? The next paragraph talks about the Rescue Force, though it seems that they are responding to him rather than he being a member of the Rescue Force. It is likely (though conjecture) that writer Robert Mann became confused by a reference picture of various Transformers with the legend "Clockwise from left to right..." and decided that the name of the first character was "Clockwise", especially since his name is "Clockwise" in the original text rather than the German translation.
  • Longtooth's friend was not named in his original appearance. Ask Vector Prime would much later retcon him to be the same character as Clockwise from the Comic-Magazin story.
