James Hill

James Hill is a British comic writer who wrote several Marvel UK stories before Simon Furman became the sole writer.

He wrote the influential "State Games" story, which established the Decepticons' origins in gladiatorial combat - a more ruthless version of this idea was used by later publishers Dreamwave and IDW.

He also wrote the first and second of the Marvel UK Christmas stories.

He almost wrote an origin story about how the Transformers had evolved but editor Ian Rimmer was more interested in Earth-based stories.

• A summary section included in the Titan Books reprint of "Fallen Angel" speculates that he is the likely author of the uncredited UK Annual story "Hunted!".
