Zak Penn (born September 1, 1968) is an American screenwriter, best known for his spec script that became The Last Action Hero. He wrote unused screenplays for X2, The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers, and co-wrote Elektra and X-Men: The Last Stand. He is among the writers assembled by Akiva Goldsman to develop spin-offs for the Transformers live-action film series.
He and Werner Herzog were once attacked by the Loch Ness monster.
