Chro is a Deployer from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Chro is the one on the left. Cryotek's design wasn't cluttered enough, you see.

Chro, a Targetmaster drone, is Cryotek's loyal pet. He is most often found perching silently on his shoulder, but when Cryotek has finished ripping the spark clear of a hated foe, Chro will stoop to feast on the remains.

Fiction

3H comics

Chro sat next to Cryotek as Cyclonus reported in from Archa Nine, several systems away. Cyclonus had successfully betrayed the Wreckers and secured the Divine Light, an ancient Quintesson artifact. Soon, he would return to Cybertron to deliver the artifact to Cryotek. Betrayal

Remember that part in Follow That Bird where Big Bird was painted blue? This was nothing like that.

Once the Divine Light was delivered, Cryotek doublecrossed his Quintesson partners, allowing Chro to deliver his deadly message across Judge Derodomontatus's faces. Chro turned next towards the only Transformers in their path to godhood, the Wreckers, transforming into his double-crossbow mode and firing upon them. Cryotek admitted that his faithful pet was not the most insurmountable of hurdles for his determined foes, and so he used the Divine Light to draw from Primus' power, mutating Chro into a huge and grotesque creature. Now no mere bird, he was a fearsome avian beast capable of transforming into a massive weapons platform.

Between Chro and Cyclonus, the two pushed the Wreckers further and further into the dark tunnels of Cybertron. But when Cyclonus and Rodimus Major were separated from the main battle, the Wreckers were finally able to subdue Chro. Arcee held the creature still with her weblines, allowing Devcon to put Chro out of commission. Wreckers: Finale Part II

Toys

Beast Machines

To kill a Predabird.
  • Rav (Deployer, 2001)
    • Accessories: 2 missiles
The blue version of Rav was officially repurposed as Chro.
All three Deployers were given "running change" redecos. This version of Rav is blue and navy blue and retains all his original features. He features a quick-change transformation, from mechanical crow into a "crossbow" mode, featuring a pair of spring-loaded missile launchers.

Notes

  • The running-change redecoes of the Deployers were originally meant to be renamed as new characters, but ultimately came out with their original names. These names were revealed only through retail listings. What happened is unknown, but the name for the Rav redeco, "Cro", was canonized as "Chro" in the 3H Wreckers comics.
