The name or term "Grindcore" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Grindcore (disambiguation).
Grindcore is a penitentiary from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Grindcore is an infamous Decepticon prison camp. Maybe it's named after the pre-war Cybertronian, maybe not.

Fiction

During the war, Skyfall was captured by the Decepticons and held in Grindcore until his escape 100 years later. Bullets Another inmate was Quark, who was not as fortunate and died there in captivity. Predestination: An Expert's Guide

Skids was also an inmate for a finite period, and the last roommate of Quark. While there, he performed some repairs for Tarn; notably including the "teleport generator" of the "teleport chamber". While Skids believed he did good by allowing a chance for other inmates to become slaves on Ambervalia, more accurate names for the device would include : "Incinerator","Smelting chamber" and "Furnace".Speak, Memory!
