Stan Bush is an American rock musician, who performed the original songs "Dare" and "The Touch" for The Transformers: The Movie, and subsequently appeared in a music video for the latter song.
"The Touch" is heard twice during the movie, first when Optimus Prime begins his assault on the Decepticons, and again as Hot Rod opens the Matrix. The song was used again during the climactic scene of the cartoon episode "The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2". "Dare" is also featured twice in the movie: first as Hot Rod and Daniel race back to Autobot City, then when the Autobots crash their ship through Unicron's eye. Both songs appear on The Transformers: The Movie - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
Years later, Bush was tapped to write and perform an original song for the Transformers fan convention, BotCon, which was called "Ground Zero".
He was a special guest at BotCon 1997, where he performed a live concert with fellow The Transformers: The Movie musical alumnus Vince DiCola for the attendees. An exclusive two-disk CD featuring songs by both Bush and DiCola was available at this same convention. Ten years later he was a guest at BotCon 2007, where he performed "'Til All Are One", which was based upon "Ground Zero".

At an undetermined time period following the creation of the Headmasters and Targetmasters and the seeming defeat of Galvatron and Scorponok, Powermaster Optimus Prime spent a good deal of time relating Transformers stories to the human schoolboy Tommy Kennedy.
After a series of stories wherein he described the events of the battle with Unicron, Optimus Prime had to depart to attend an interstellar peace conference in the midst of a barrage of questions from Tommy. As he was blasting off, Prime declared "But until I return, I leave you with 'The Touch'!"
Following this, the music video for "The Touch" began, although how Tommy was able to view it in the barren wasteland where his meetings with Prime typically took place is unknown. Season 5: Movie, Day Five

- Within The Touch music video itself, Stan Bush's guitar is shown to fire lasers via special effects. However, it is possible that Bush's guitar could in fact fire lasers in cartoon continuity. I mean, why not?
- Bush launched a campaign to have "The Touch" included on either Guitar Hero or Rock Band.[1] He recently announced the campaign's success, with "The Touch" hitting Guitar Hero: World Tour as free downloadable content.[2]
- As part of the media hype building up to the release of Revenge of the Fallen, Bush released a reworked version of "The Touch" with a more modern, Linkin Park-inspired sound. This is notable because, while completely unsanctioned or unrequested by Hasbro or DreamWorks, it is totally hilarious.
- In 2010, Bush released the album 'Dream the Dream', which featured the song "Sam's Theme (The Touch)", a rap-less version of "The Touch: Sam's Theme".
- A special thanks message during Transformers: War for Cybertron's end credits claims that the developers families "rock like Stan Bush", accompanied by Till All Are One. Whether or not said family members possess laser-firing guitars has yet to be determined.
