The Apex is Commander Ginrai's ship, a magnificent Cybertronian flagship.

Ginrai, constantly on the lookout for new threats to Cybertron, used the Apex to respond to a disturbance in Nebulan space, only to find that the disturbance was merely a spaceborne "fender-bender".
