Treader is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Tallest Micromaster of them all, except when Freeway gets drunk and claims to be the "World's Biggest Micromaster." What a jerk.

Treader (トレッダー Toreddā) is the bruiser of the Build Team. He really doesn't talk a lot, but his fists say plenty. He feels he owes Crush-Bull a debt he can never truly repay, so he follows him into the worst situations without hesitation. Though he's the quiet type, he's also compassionate; Spark and Leaf in particular idolize him.

He also has an evil counterpart running around.

Fiction

Micromaster

Mixing was one of several Cyberdroids in stasis at the Autobot Micromasters' Earth base. During a particularly pitched battle with the Decepticon Sixwing in Berserker Mode, the capsules containing the Build Team took a shock, activating them. A little while later, Micromasters resembling the Build Team were spotted wrecking human construction sites. The Build Team soon confronted them in Sixbuilder mode...only for the impostors to do the same! The green Decepticon Sixbuilder announced that the two teams were actually halves of the original whole, and that he would rejoin with Sixbuilder only after all the other Autobots had been destroyed. Sixbuilder the Ill-Fated Warrior!?

Treader helped excavate Mount St. Hillary, where the Autobot Micromasters discovered ancient Cybertronian fragments. Sixwing then attacked, intent on plundering the excavation for himself. Treader helped defend the Autobots' findings while Sixtrain took on Sixwing. Sixtrain! Activate Red Mode!!

Operation Combination

Years later, Treader and the rest of the Six-team Micromasters joined Guard City and the Road Corps in defending Earth from the forces of the Decepticon High Regent Scrash. Operation Combination

None of the combiner team individuals ever actually show up as individuals, only as components of the combined robot modes.

Toys

Operation Combination

  • Sixbuilder (Micromaster Sixteam, 1992)
    • Japanese ID number: TF-01
The original version of Treader was available only as part of a Sixbuilder gift set in Japan. Aside from the earth-mover dump-truck mode, Treader can form a leg to any of the similar-build Six-Teams (Sixturbo, Sixbuilder, or Sixwing), though his nominal placement is as Sixbuilder's right leg. The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find.
The toy's larger connector socket is approximately 5mm wide, making Treader compatible with Powerlinx ports.
This mold was also used to make Universe Micromaster Long Haul, and the evil half of Treader.

Micromaster

  • Treader (Micromaster, 2003)
    • Sixbuilder ID number: 5
    • Accessories: Sixbuilder right foot
In 2003, the entire Sixbuilder team was re-released as part of the fourth The Transformers: Micromaster assortment in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, the team was extensively redecoed; Treader went from black to bright yellow. All decals were also replaced with paint applications.

Notes

  • Treader, like all of the six-team Micromasters, had no individual bio information whatsoever until his Micromaster release a decade after his original Operation Combination release.
