The Exploration Mini-Con Team are a trio of Mini-Cons who remain on the dark side of Earth's Moon. They prefer the quiet and solitude so they can contemplate the deep mysteries of life, the afterlife, and beyond. They are constant targets for the Lunar Assault Mini-Con Team, but take the attacks in cool stride, avoiding the traps and fighting back only when necessary. They are rather loosely aligned with the Autobots.
The Exploration Team is composed of...
- Ascentor the Gepard anti-aircraft tank.
- Landslide the bucket-wheel excavator.
- Monocle the tunneling machine.

During the Mini-Con Civil War, Monocle and Landslide participated in a battle between the Autobots and Decepticon-allied Mini-Cons... apparently on the side of the Decepticons. Revelations Part 4 He was heavily damaged by enemy fire, and wasn't seen again. Revelations Part 5
