The Mecha Force developed their 'jet' fleet from Cybertronian technology. Once Upon a Time on Earth

Pilot (First Class) Zilong Qian led eighteen jets of the Mecha Force to Beijing on the day Optimus Prime declared Earth his protectorate (the Earth Defense Command was on the outs). Between his team and their orbital laser support, the Force took out a number of Transformers (including Sterling) before the Autobots simply upped and left. Once Upon a Time on Earth Following the engagement, the President of the United States allowed the Mecha Force to operate on U.S. soil as part of a grander alliance; Zilong Qian was present, as a liaison between the PRC and EDC, boring everyone by quibbling over whether he was the army or not. New Worlds Order

The Mecha Force and EDC made a joint raid on what they suspected was the Autobot base, only to find it had been deliberately made noticeable: all they found was "WE ARE HERE TO HELP" on the walls. Edge of the Earth

Notes

• Zilong specified in "New Worlds Order" that the Mecha Force is a "distinct branch with a different line-item" to the Chinese Army i.e. the PLA Ground Force. That makes the MF a separate service.
• If the Mecha Force uses the same ranking structure as the Chinese Air Force (which has Airman First Class), then the squadron-commanding Zilong Qian would just be a junior enlisted airmen. Ah, no.
