A perspective trap is designed to disorientate its victims, leaving them unable to judge the relative proximity of other objects.

IDW Generation 1 continuity
During one of their many adventures, the Scavengers encountered a perspective trap that ensnared Crankcase, Krok, and Grimlock, at least. They were able to escape its effects by constructing a makeshift vanishing point and trying to think in three dimensions. Some Of My Best Friends Are Autobots
