- The Avengers are a human organization from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Avengers are Earth's mightiest heroes, united against common threats and foes that no single super hero could withstand!
Known members include:
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
After Latveria, influenced by a Decepticon hostility-inducing machine, attacked Symkaria, the Avengers were called in to investigate to prevent war with S.H.I.E.L.D. as back-up. They found and entered a dome structure, where they were attacked by the building's defenses and Spider-Man was kidnapped by Runabout.
Forced outside, the Avengers were joined by Ms. Marvel and Falcon. Afterwards, they encountered the Autobots and attacked them. Man and Machine, Part One
Notes
- Thor and the Hulk could possibly be members of the Avengers, but there's no concrete evidence to support this theory.
- In all seriousness, the Avengers team from New Avengers/Transformers is based on the lineup from the first volume of The New Avengers, though the Falcon and Ms. Marvel were never members of that team, making their presence here a little unusual. But then New Avengers/Transformers had Doctor Doom alive when he wasn't at that point in Marvel continuity, so we feel pretty comfortable chalking this one up to an alternate universe.
- And just for clarification: they're not the New Avengers, even though they appear in a comic called New Avengers, and have occasionally been referred to as "the new Avengers". It's just one of those things.
- John Barber's assumption is that the Avengers all died during All Hail Megatron, and because of the rights to them belonging to Marvel, that's probably the closest thing to canon that you're going to get. [1]
