The Infernus bullet is a form of ammunition reverse-engineered from the Firecons' natural abilities. It is designed to penetrate Cybertronian armor and reach the spark, causing the victim to burn up from the inside out.
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
Decepticon scientists on Varas Centralus used the Firecons as a template for creating the Infernus bullets. The bullets were considered a war crime, and Sandstorm and the Wreckers fought to prevent them from being used in active combat situations. Quest for Fire
After the war, former Decepticons were being murdered on Cybertron using Infernus bullets. Suspicion initially fell on the Firecons until the investigators realized the Firecons were actually the last people on the planet who would need Infernus bullets in the first place. The Killing Jar It was eventually revealed that Sandstorm was responsible for the murders. Forever Is a Long Time Coming
