Stopgap

Stopgap is a Maximal from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Stopgap is a highly-trained member of the elite Maximal Command Security Force. His job is to uphold the will of the Maximal Imperium on Cybertron in the name of the Pax Cybertronia. Having honed his skills as a private investigator, forensic scientist and crime scene investigator on the planet Edaps, Stopgap can find out a lot about a crime with even the scantest of clues. However, he tends to get so wrapped up in his own work that he unintentionally ignores things that are happening around him.

Theft of the Golden Disk

Switchblade faced off against a Predacon. He was apparently also defeated when the Predacon blasted Switchblade with his optic weaponry. Theft of the Golden Disk

Beast Wars: Uprising

Stopgap was a member of the Maximal Command Security Force in Iacon. He was part of the containment team who arrested Fennec after Wolfang brought him down. Trigger Warnings

Along with most of the MCSF, Stopgap retreated to the newly established Maximal Nation during the Grand Uprising. When the Vehicon Apocalypse began, he marched on the Grand Mal in Nova Cronum with the other armies of the proto-races. Derailment

Notes

• Stopgap—like all of the MCSF—uses the Cybertron-series Clocker toy as a base (with a modified Machine Wars Skywarp/Thundercracker head), though no official Stopgap toy exists (and probably never will). His color scheme is based somewhat loosely on the Beast Wars II Maximal Diver.
• Names for the Maximal Command Security Force were originally revealed by user icons of the characters in the Transformers Collectors Club forum and profiles from within the fanclub magazine.
