| The name or term "Matrix" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Matrix (disambiguation). |

The Matrix Cannon is a devastating energy weapon capable of destroying even the pulsing energy core of Unicron. Its power is formed, along with the Nemesis Shield and Vanguard Booster, from the combination of the Red, Blue, Green, Gold, and Purple Mini-Con Teams.
Despite its name, the Matrix Cannon has no physical form. Rather, it manifests itself within the spark of a worthy Transformer, and the combined might of all Mini-Cons is released from the Transformer's proprietary weapon systems. This awesome blast can damage even Unicron with one shot.[1]

Transformers Playstation 2 video game

After the Autobots had collected all of the Mini-Cons stranded on Earth, they learned that Cybertron was being threatened by the chaos-bringer Unicron. The Mini-Cons merged together to form three incredibly powerful weapons, including the Matrix Cannon, and the Autobots were able to destroy Unicron and end the threat to their planet. Transformers
Notes
- In the 'Recruit' difficulty, you need to collect 30 Mini-Cons to form the Matrix Cannon, 35 in the 'Veteran' difficulty, and 40 in the 'Commander' difficulty... Which means all of them. All hail the cheats.
