Gimme back my Allspark!

Synopsis

At Scramble City, the Kiss Player cassettes are in a panic over the disappearance of their human partners. However, this panic is interrupted by Ultra Magnus, who tells the bots they have a new assignment.

Meanwhile, 300 years in the past, Atari and Star Dust must claim an AllSpark fragment from Optimus Primal. However, when the fragment emerges, a mysterious force steals it away before the Sparkbot can collect it.

Notes

  • "Scramble City" is the name of Metroplex's city mode in Japan.
  • The radio drama basically forgot the Cassettrons existed after the first installment of the Kiss Players Position story, thus, they get some screen time here.
  • The Sparkbots are now sporting their special marks, which they got in the Tokyo Toy Festival live performance, which takes place before the events shown in this issue... but was performed on March 18, nearly two months after this issue hit shelves. Continuity, baby!
  • Speaking of "pre-capping", this installment skips several shows and jumps to the first appearance of the mysterious Allspark-napping force, which wasn't aired until February 13th, two weeks after this issue was released.
  • Ohshima's dedication to toy-based art is impressive. Ultra Magnus's "optics" are black holes in his head. Meanwhile, Waspinator's rearmost insect legs are the huge, thick robot-mode boots.
