Ultra Bee is an Autobot combiner from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Move over, Optimus Maximus...

The mighty Ultra Bee Team Combiner is the combined form of Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Strongarm, and Grimlock. Drift is the sword. Unlike other combiners, the Ultra Bee Team Combiner doesn't seem to have a personality of his own, thus his components have to agree on everything in order for the Ultra Bee Team Combiner to do anything. Considering the relationships between certain teammates of his, this can make things singularly awkward for the Ultra Bee Team Combiner at times.

"That lightsaber. It belongs to me!"
"Come get it!"
"If you will not turn to the Dark Side, then perhaps she will."
"Never!"

When the Bee Team dogpiled Heatseeker to keep the Stunticon from firing missiles at a nuclear waste disposal site, he fired anyway. The combination of the explosion, ambient radiation, and the Crash Combiner Stunticon at the bottom of the bot-pile resulted in the Autobots being fused briefly into a combined, unconscious form, which quickly wore off. King of the Hill (Part 2)

During the pursuit of Drag Strip, a methane explosion triggered a second merging. The confused Autobots were eventually able to stand up, but decoupled once again when they fell over. Bumblebee later asked Fixit to come up with theories on why they might have combined, and he suggested it was a result of the radiation they absorbed from the nuclear waste site. The Great Divide Fixit later ran tests on Drift and Grimlock to try and determine the nature of the Ultra Bee Team Combiner's combination, but only succeeded in getting the two Autobots stuck together, much to their annoyance. Get a Clue Later he managed to briefly fuse Sideswipe and Grimlock into a "Sidelock" combined form, with Grimlock, to his annoyance, still on the bottom; Out of the Shadows further experimentation resulted in the entire team body-swapping instead of combining. Disordered Personalities Bumblearm was eventually made as a the first successfully proper combined form. Guilty As Charged

Team Bee successfully fused into the Ultra Bee Team Combiner to battle Menasor, using Fixit's combination machine while it was hooked up to a satellite's power source. However after the battle was over, Fixit discovered the device wasn't plugged in, implying the combination happened on its own. Combine and Conquer

Released as part of the "Team Combiners" subline, the Ultra Bee Team Combiner is a 4-pack consisting of Bumblebee, Grimlock, Strongarm, and Sideswipe. The smaller Sideswipe and Strongarm form the combiner's arms, while Grimlock makes up the legs, and Bumblebee forms the torso, with Ultra Bee's head deploying from inside his body with the push of a spring-loaded button. Though Ultra Bee uses the same universal combiner joints as the other Team Combiners in the range, Menasor and Galvatronus, who each have five members, his unique four-bot construction means that only his arms are capable of being swapped between teams... at least, without resulting in some really weird-looking combinations.
Each of the four figures features a 5mm post hole on the top of their alternate mode to accommodate Weaponizer and Activator Mini-Cons. The set also includes a non-transforming Drift in sword form, which Ultra Bee can hold in his hand, or store on his back. When the team is separated, the toy's instructions indicate that the sword is... somehow supposed to store between Grimlock's legs in dinosaur mode, but exactly how is not clear and there are no clips that securely hold it in place. It is not apparently capable of being stored anywhere or held by anyone in their robot modes.

Notes

  • While this combiner is, in fact, named "Ultra Bee", he is never referred to exclusively as such in the show. Every time Ultra Bee is named on-screen, it is as "Ultra Bee Team Combiner" (or "Ultra Bee Team Combiner form"). To sell toys, mah boi!
    • Yes, this gets exactly as awkwardly annoying as you think it does.
