- A stasis web is a device from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Part of the sick and disturbed pleasures of the sick and disturbed Tarantulas, stasis webs were a creation the mad scientist used in feasting—on Transformers.
Fiction
Beast Wars cartoon
A stasis web was designed to hold a victim in place and drain their energon while leaving their flesh intact. The web's power draining capabilities could be adjusted, draining the victim much quicker, but Tarantulas preferred a slower method, claiming that the flesh was better preserved by going slower. It also served as a restraining device, preventing the victim from transforming and escaping. A blast from an energy weapon could sever the webs. After the Maximal Cheetor pointed out that he had no blood, Tarantulas claimed that he found he preferred the act over the nourishment. The Web
That's just creepy, even for Tarantulas.
Although the stasis web was destroyed by Rattrap, Tarantulas would use weapons extremely similar to it as one of the many types of projectiles launched from his handheld gun. These webs, contained in normal-looking bullets, proved effective in trapping almost any Transformer—even a Transmetal 2.

To contain the threat posed by Unicron, Starscream ordered the "Decepticon Vengeance Division" to ensnare the Chaos Bringer in a massive stasis web, thereby neutralizing the supposed "faster-than-light movement" he used to get around, before unleashing their planet smashing artillery on him. Owing to Bludgeon's loyalty to Unicron, neither Starscream nor the Decepticons knew that Unicron traveled by teleporting, and so the web did absolutely nothing to inhibit his subsequent escape.
