"I summon Slifer, the Executive Producer!" "A COSTLY MISTAKE!"

Roger Slifer (November 11, 1954March 30, 2015) was an American writer and producer. He served as associate producer on seasons 2 and 3 of The Transformers, was an "Associate Story Consultant" on The Transformers: The Movie, and wrote the live-action "Tommy Kennedy" segments of season 5. He also wrote episodes of Jem and G.I. Joe, and has produced a number of animated series, including My Little Pony, Bucky O'Hare, and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

He has also had a prolific comics career, and co-created the alien mercenary Lobo during his run on Omega Men.

On June 22, 2012 he was struck by a hit-and-run driver[1] and passed away three years later.[2]

Notes

  • Slifer is the namesake of both a Ghost Rider villain and a Yu-Gi-Oh! card.
  • Roger actually showed up at BotCon 2009. He wasn't a guest, he was just there. He was recognized by several of the guests at the original cartoon series writers' panel, and they asked him to come on up.
