Jimmy is a human from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Jimmy is a young boy living in Portland, Oregon. Judging from the poster for Escape in his room and his interest in old cassette players, he is hopelessly stuck in the '80s.

IDW Generation 1 continuity

In 2007, Jimmy found an old cassette player in a pawn shop. Despite his friend's complaints that it was just old junk, Jimmy recognized it as a classic and bought it. Spotlight: Soundwave

Some time later, he was seen playing video games, blissfully unaware that his cassette player was sending out signals to mess with Skywatch. Devastation #4

Jimmy remained blissfully unaware as Shockwave tracked Soundwave back to his home. Maximum Dinobots issue 3 As Jimmy was playing with an action figure, Ravage busted through his wall and told him that he had something that didn't belong to him. This was quickly followed by Laserbeak burning the roof off Jimmy's house and stealing his cassette player. The boy was left speechless, but unhurt. His mother probably wasn't happy though.
