After Slipstream's squadron had consistently failed to kill two Autobots or find the AllSpark, Shockwave came to Earth in a ship that spilt into two smaller craft, each with a disruptor, intending to use them to sterilize all organic life on Earth and quickly locate the AllSpark on the deserted world. The scientist took Acid Storm and Thrust with him to the South Pole, while Shadow Striker took the remaining seekers to the North Pole.
