- Lobe is a Transformer from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Lobe is the head of the Iaconian Mechaforensic Division's team of cerebrosurgeons... and a top man at the Institute. We told you pre-war Cybertron was a police state!

Before the war broke out, Lobe and his team were allegedly trying to find a way to retrieve live data from the brain modules of dead Cybertronians. To this end, Prowl was ordered to keep the brain of assassination victim Senator Sherma intact so that the cerebrosurgeons could use it for their experiments. Post Hoc
In actual fact, he was carrying out shadowplay and empurata at the Institute, a Senate facility that reprogrammed dissidents. Shockwave was one of his biggest victims: Lobe gleefully made it so the guy would never have emotions again. An Intimate Beheading
After the outbreak of war, Lobe and his assistant ended up joining the Decepticons, where they were responsible for either rebuilding or repairing Tarn of the Decepticon Justice Division. The Permanent Revolution
