Ardurian roc

Ardurian rocs are the dominant species of the planet Arduria. Like the mythological rocs of Earth, they are avian creatures, but that is where the similarities end: the rocs of Arduria are sapient, mechanical humanoids, not dissimilar from Cybertronians, who view them as "estranged cousins" of their race and do not trust them. Known for being extremely watchful, the rocs communicate via radio waves and dwell in floating aeries.

IDW Generation 1 continuity

The Regenesis missile launched by Shockwave that contained Ore-6 landed on Arduria, unexpectedly resulting the a massive loss of planetary heat that caused the native rocs to die off in massive numbers. A small number of survivors huddled beneath the planet's surface, but one remained up top, confident that someone would come to save them. A visitor from Cybertron brought hope to this dying roc... until it turned out to be Shockwave himself, who ended the rocs' suffering by granting them the embrace of the grave. Syndromica (1)
