S.H.I.E.L.D. is a human organization from the Generation 1 continuity family.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is an organization focused on defending either America or the world.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is America's super-spy organization with a flying headquarters. Dum Dum and Nicholas apparently work for this organization. Like many spy organizations, they do not like being contacted about big, green, fire-snortin' lizards. Prisoner of War!

S.H.I.E.L.D. was the world's preeminent peace-keeping organization, run by Director Hill. They worked in conjunction with the Avengers during the conflict between Latveria and Symkaria spurred by Megatron and the Decepticons. Man and Machine, Part One

Vector Prime considered season 5 to be S.H.I.E.L.D.'s strongest, although he admits to being in the minority for that opinion.

As of the time of Vector Prime's answer, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was only in its third season. Time travel is pesky!
