Wheeljack's new hyper fuel proves too strong to handle, while Bumblebee searches for answers about the creature he saw.
Synopsis
In his lab on the Ark, Wheeljack is showing off his newest inventions to Optimus Prime, including a force shield blaster, a Mega Magnetizer, a gun that he doesn't even understand the use of, and his latest masterpiece: Hyper Fuel, a super-concentrated energon powerful enough to dislodge the Ark from Mount St. Hilary. Optimus is impressed, but a test of the substance on Wheeljack's drone proves it to be a little too effective, causing the poor robot to start bouncing off the walls.
Meanwhile in the medbay, Ratchet is examining Bumblebee, who can't stop thinking about the strange creature he saw on the moon. Ratchet is convinced he imagined it, but Bumblebee is insistent, and begins looking for more information. His inquiries to Teletraan-X prove fruitless, and Hot Rod, Prowl, Drift, and Rack'n'Ruin claim not to have seen the creature, but Arcee uses her wild animal photos to help Bumblebee identify his mystery beast: a cheetah.
Back in the lab, Wheeljack and Grimlock are in the midst of a heated argment, with Wheeljack refusing to let Grimlock use his drone to serve energon drinks to guests at his latest after-battle soirée. Their bickering is interrupted by Bumblebee, who asks Wheeljack if he has any gadgets for tracking down his "moon cheetah". Wheeljack leads Bumblebee aside, believing he has a mammal detector that can help, while Grimlock is left alone with the drone. Noticing the can of Hyper Fuel on its top, Grimlock fancies a taste of "the good stuff" Wheeljack has been keeping for himself and drinks its contents. Overwhelmed by the delicious taste, he transforms and his dino instincts take over, causing him to drink an entire barrel of the substance. Bumblebee and Wheeljack return just as Grimlock begins running through the lab and down the hallway at high speed, unable to stop due to his body trying to burn off its excess energy. The two grab a handful of Wheeljack's inventions and give chase.
Grimlock continues to barrel out of control, crashing into everyone and everything he runs into. Wheeljack moves to intercept him and blasts him with his Mega Magnetizer, trapping Grimlock against the wall. Unfortunately, Grimlock has too much energy left and he continues to move, scraping against the wall until he manages to free himself. With Grimlock still magnetized and at risk of attracting the other Autobots, Optimus sends a warning throughout the ship to avoid the dinobot. Hot Rod receives this a moment too late, though, as he looks up just in time to get stuck to the passing Grimlock's back. Windblade attempts to slow him down with her jets, but he powers right through and she ends up similarly stuck. Windblade directs Grimlock to head outside, where there will be no metal to attract.
At the Ark's exit, Bumblebee and Wheeljack lie in wait. As Grimlock appears, Wheeljack is unsure which invention to use, so Bumblebee grabs the unknown gun and fires... which creates a black hole that begins to suck everything in. Grimlock struggles against the black hole's pull, and Hot Rod is dislodged from his back, nearly getting sucked in. Fortunately, Optimus arrives and uses Wheeljack's force shield blaster to trap the black hole and Grimlock in protective bubbles. The black hole dissipates and Grimlock continues to run in place, unable to get any traction thanks to the bubble. Wheeljack reassures Optimus that Grimlock will be back to normal by tomorrow, and decides to use less powerful "Mega Fuel" instead of his Hyper Fuel.
Bumblebee helps Hot Rod to his feet, but as they glance outside, they notice Bumblebee's moon cheetah staring at them. The two pursue the creature as it flees, following it through the forest into a nearby cave. Hot Rod races inside first, followed by Bumblebee, but by the time the scout enters, the cave is completely empty, with no sign of the cheetah or Hot Rod. The next day, Grimlock finally tires out, and Wheeljack releases him and Windblade from the bubble. Grimlock returns to robot mode and declares that his best after-battle soirée yet.
