Backbite is a Predacon from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Backbite is a Predacon, cloned from ancient CNA by Shockwave and used by the scientist's disciples, the Forged, to attack and capture their enemies.

When Ser-Ket learned that Ultra Magnus's craft had been shot down in a skirmish with Decepticons, she dispatched a number of Forged troops, along with Backbite, to find the crash site before the Autobots did. They succeeded in this, and when the Dinobots arrived at the wreck, the high-ranking Autobot had already been removed and Backbite was lying in wait for them. It successfully attacked both Swoop and Snarl before Grimlock was able to injure it using his dinosaur mode, but the Dinobot leader slipped into a rage that made him attack his teammates. This distraction gave Backbite the opportunity to grab the injured Swoop, and take him to the Forged prison in the Sea of Rust. Rage of the Dinobots #1

• Backbite shares a body-type with Skystalker, although the wing-mounted disc launchers of that character's figure are scaled down for a less toy-like appearance.
