The Reversionists are a faction on Cybertron, noted, and largely hated, for their piousnesses. They believe that Cybertron was once Primus, and so that every Cybertronian is in a small way Primus himself, and therefore that deceased Cybertronians ought to be cremated in a plasma pyre to return their substance to Cybertron, hence the name.

They seem to have a penchant for staffs and are known to revere the Titans.

Fiction

2019 IDW continuity

Though Bumblebee considered them to be one of the smaller factions on Cybertron, The World In Your Eyes Part Two the Reversionists had enough of a presence that their leader, Heretech, held a seat on the inner Senate. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four Despite this, the Reversionists were largely disliked as a faction. When Brainstorm was murdered, the Reversionists petitioned Orion Pax to allow one of their number to speak at his funeral and for them to be present at the birth of a new Cybertronian. Though unsympathetic to them, Orion made the compromise, mainly so that the Reversionists would not join the Ascenticons.

When the newborn was forged, the Reversionists stood among the crowd outside the Pyramid, praising Primus. While Rubble could see their viewpoint, Bumblebee scoffed that everything was mystical to a Reversionist. At Brainstorm's funeral, Ironhide noted that the deceased would be appalled to learn a Reversionist was speaking reiterating the late scientist's opining that the lot of them ought to be shipped off to the most remote colony. The World In Your Eyes Part Four

At the last Senate meeting before Sentinel Prime returned home, Heretech spoke for his faction, though Megatron felt what he had to say was annoyingly repetitive and outdated. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four Following the Prime's return to Cybertron, Prowl informed him of a Reversionist protest at the Tether that was pushing for a unity government. The Change In Your Nature Part One

After Sentinel Prime had asked him to play a role in shutting down the Ascenticon movement, a disgusted Heretech told Megatron of the Prime's intentions and revealed that the Reversionists would soon be leaving Cybertron to seek a fresh start elsewhere. The Change In Your Nature Part Four

Aboard the starship Exodus, the Reversionists prepared to leave their homeworld with their launch gaining the attention of several interested Cybertronians who also sought to flee the increasing civil unrest. When the Tether collapsed and fell onto Iacon, ravaging the city, the Reversionists launched away before the Autobots could lock down space traffic. Arcee/Greenlight: Run

The Reversionists practiced daily routines to exercise their faith. They listened to Heretech's lessons, performed chores, meditated, and prayed. Every day would begin by giving praise to Heretech himself. Gauging the Truth: Part One While the Exodus was in space, the Reversionists were not above wiping the memory of stowaway Gauge and placing her under the mentorship of Accelerator, while jailing Arcee and Greenlight in the engine room. Heretech announced to his followers that Primus had deemed them worthy of a planet of their own, declaring that they would land and cleanse the planet and take it for the Reversionists. To Gauge and her mentors' horror, the planet he is referring to is Cybertron. Gauging the Truth, Part Two: A Truth For a Truth
