| This article is about the Decepticon Micromaster. For the unmade Autobot Turbomaster, see Hyperdrive (Autobot). |
- Hyperdrive is a Decepticon Micromaster in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Hyperdrive is violent, destructive, and likes nothing better than "putting one in the CPU" of wounded Autobots. Even his teammates in the Sports Car Patrol are put off by his ignoble nature.[1] On the plus side...no wait, he's just a jerk. No depth here.

After studying the captive Autobot Battle Patrol, Thunderwing and his scientists managed to replicate Emirate Xaaron's Micromaster process, and create a new era of Decepticon Micromasters, including Hyperdrive and his cohorts. A Small War!
After Megatron began rebuilding his power base on Cybertron, Hyperdrive and the Sports Car Patrol were some of his first recruits. Using the trans-dimensional patrol, Hyperdrive participated in the infiltration of the Ark, joining his fellow Micromasters in tricking the medic, Ratchet, into believing they were Autobots on their way back to Cybertron. Hyperdrive, being a loud-mouthed and obnoxious thug, somehow managed to keep quiet long enough for them to fool Ratchet and take him prisoner at Megatron's base on Cybertron. When Ratchet eventually outsmarted Megatron and reactivated his buddies (Jazz, Grimlock, and Bumblebee), Hyperdrive and the other henchmen had a running battle with the Autobots which took them outside the base and, luckily, out of range of the massive explosion which leveled the entire complex. The Sports Car Patrol presumably survived, but were never seen again. Skin Deep

Hyperdrive and the Sports Car Patrol are highly-advanced warriors apparently in the service of the Dead Universe. They ran afoul of Nightbeat on Gorlam Prime while protecting the "hole in the world". Hyperdrive and his compatriots captured the inquisitive Autobot and subjected him to an unknown procedure before letting him go. Spotlight: Nightbeat

Generation 1
- Sports Car Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1989)
- Hyperdrive transforms into a cyan Mitsubishi X2S concept car. He was only available in a "Patrol" four-pack with his teammates Blackjack, Detour and Road Hugger.
- This mold was also used to make Gingham, and was apparently the basis for the non-toy character Clipper.
