After being brutally attacked by Shockwave Where Is Thy Sting?, Ultra Magnus was left in stasis, on spark support. Decepticon Air

Sentinel Prime appropriated footage of Ultra Magnus on spark support to use in his propaganda broadcast. Later, Shockwave crashed into the spark support chamber, still holding the Magnus Hammer, with the intention of putting his old commander to rest for good with it.
