Fiction

Generation 1 cartoon continuity

The Transformers cartoon

Voice actor: Peter Cullen (English), Ken Shiroyama (Japanese), Wolfgang Mascher (German), Henry Djanik (European French, The Return of Optimus Prime)
And when you're down here with us, YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!

After being injured on Chaar, Rodimus Prime experienced a vision in where he saw the physical form of It, which shattered, releasing a dark destructive presence that destroyed a sequence of ancient Cybertronians before fading to reveal the eerily-similar face of a Quintesson Judge, which also shattered. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2

When the Hate Plague threatened to infect all life in the universe, Optimus Prime made a desperate mental trip into the Matrix in search of a cure. After speaking with Alpha Trion, Optimus Prime encountered It, which told him of the Matrix's previous exposure to the Hate Plague. At that time, a wise man was able to contain the plague's spores and seal them within a star, but no one person had enough wisdom to destroy the plague completely. Optimus Prime gambled that the accumulated wisdom contained within the Matrix itself would be enough, and released it, which indeed destroyed the Hate Plague. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2
