The Decepticon Dreadwind's weapons of choice are his thermal melters, which he can deploy in both robot and jet mode, as well as when combined with Darkwing to form Dreadwing.

Marvel The Transformers comics

The thermal melters appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Acting on orders from Scorponok, Dreadwing and Darkwing raided an Alternate Reality warehouse guarded by Getaway, Slapdash, and Joyride. While Darkwing and Throttle snuck inside the facility, Dreadwind strafed the Autobots with his thermal melters, managing to disable Slapdash and Joyride, though Getaway evaded his blasts and confronted the Decepticon intruders with his plasma-shell shotgun. Prime Bomb!
