Megalligator was an Avatar of Megatron, and the Predacons believed only they had this kind of technology. During a fight with the Maximals, Convobat, Avatar of Optimus Primal, revealed himself and confirmed that the Maximals possessed Avatar technology as well. Megalligator's defeat by Convobat didn't make Megatron think highly of Avatars. Scorching Heat Showdown

- Avatars are based on the Hindu religious concept of gods having material incarnations on Earth. What exactly this entails in the context of "Scorching Heat Showdown" and whether Convobat and Megalligator are truly individual beings isn't particularly clear, though.
