Clouder saves the city from an army of Kickback clones.

Synopsis

The Insecticons once attempted to use their clones to overrun the universe and sate their hunger, only to be stopped by Skids, Screech and a new, extra powerful robotic insecticide. Having learned of Blowpipe's cloning ability, Kickback decides to try again and travels to the Legends World where he eats his way into the police station where the mutant Targetmaster is held and uses him to create a swarm of tiny Kickback clones. As the clones begin swarming Neo Akihabara City, eating into everything and converting it into energon for Kickback, Mayor Megatron relies on the city's secret weapon—Major Clouder, commanding officer of the JSDF's drone units.

After dropping out of the sky and kicking Kickback (who laments that kicking is his thing), the Masterforce armor-clad Clouder orders his Tankor Drones to unleash robotic insecticide on the swarm, but the Insecticon stops him by pointing out that Blowpipe has granted him the ability to turn others into clones of himself, and many of the Kickback clones are in fact innocent citizens. The taken aback Clouder is contacted by Wheeljack, who tells him he's modified a Black Convoy drone to serve as a transtector and equipped it with an Immobilizer V2. Clouder combines with the drone and freezes Kickback and his clones in place, allowing the Autobots to revert the transformed citizens to normal and recover Blowpipe.

After being thanked by Megatron for saving the city, Clouder returns to his true masters—Giga and Mega—who praise him for earning Megatron's trust and providing them with information about the Legends World. In the end, he is after all the two-faced Doubleclouder, and you never know if he's an ally or a spy.

Notes

  • Skids was likely picked as the wielder of robotic insecticide because of his appearance in "Quest for Survival", which introduced the substance.
  • When Clouder comes flying to the rescue, onlookers go "Is it a bird? Is it a robot? No, it's Major Clouder!"
  • Clouder's merging with a Black Convoy drone is a reference to his Assaultmaster mech from United EX, which was also partially constructed by Wheeljack and featured an Immobilizer, and he even calls the combination his "Assault Mode". Assaultmaster also wore a black, red, and teal color scheme and turned into a truck because it was related to Eldedroids, whose color scheme was first used by Black Convoy. It all comes back around!
  • The Immobilizer V2 was wielded by Wheeljack during Unite Warriors and appears here in the same "hand/foot/gun" form.
  • Wheeljack and Ratchet arrived in the Legends World to provide disaster relief in Vol. 43.
