- Pretender Vehicles are Transformers from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Pretender Vehicles take the Pretender concept in a different direction. Instead of pretending to be organic creatures, these Pretenders hide inside assault vehicle shells.
The Pretender Vehicles are:
- The Autobot Gunrunner
- The Decepticon Roadgrabber
They split to reveal a transformable robot then reassemble as a fighting machine.Pretender Vehicle commercial

- Pretender Vehicles (1988)
- The largest Pretender offerings in 1988 (thought not by a lot), Pretender Vehicles are robots whose outer shells are vehicles rather than organic creatures. The robots' vehicle modes feature large cannon accessories with reciprocating "pom-pom" action, but that feature can only be activated when the accessories are plugged into the vehicle shells: the rear wheels are part of a gear system that makes the cannons do the ack-ack-ack-ack thing.
