The '''''Transformers: Alternators''''' toyline was the first ever Hasbro ''Transformers'' toyline to utilize a form of ID numbering. While Takara had used a numbering system for every single one of their ''Transformers'' toylines prior to [[2003]] (and onwards), this was the first time Hasbro had attempted it. Needless to say, Hasbro utilizing a numbering system for one of their toylines was very short-lived in the 2000s, as the next time they decided to try using a numbering system again wouldn't be until eight years later.
Most likely down to an error when keeping track of their store exclusives, the ID number '''25''' is missing entirely from the ''Alternators'' toyline. Instead, both Nemesis Prime and "Decepticon Rumble" were given the number '''24'''. Which of the two was meant to be the ''true'' '''24''' is unknown, but it seems pretty clear that this was down to an error, either in the printing of the packaging or the releases themselves.

ID numbers are a classification system used throughout the Transformers brand to numerically identify each toy sold within a franchise's toyline. Historically, they have been used primarily by TakaraTomy (originally Takara), but Hasbro has been known to use its own systems as well. ID numbers provide a form of "order" to each toyline that uses them, allowing collectors to more easily identify specific figures.

Alternators

The Transformers: Alternators toyline was the first ever Hasbro Transformers toyline to utilize a form of ID numbering. While Takara had used a numbering system for every single one of their Transformers toylines prior to 2003 (and onwards), this was the first time Hasbro had attempted it. Needless to say, Hasbro utilizing a numbering system for one of their toylines was very short-lived in the 2000s, as the next time they decided to try using a numbering system again wouldn't be until eight years later.

Most likely down to an error when keeping track of their store exclusives, the ID number 25 is missing entirely from the Alternators toyline. Instead, both Nemesis Prime and "Decepticon Rumble" were given the number 24. Which of the two was meant to be the true 24 is unknown, but it seems pretty clear that this was down to an error, either in the printing of the packaging or the releases themselves.

References

  1. The TakaraTomy ID number is MP-55 but for whatever reason, Hasbro Pulse went with MP-51+ for their listing.
  2. The numbering of the Legends Class Thrilling 30 figures skips the numbers 011-017. The reason for this is unknown; however, the names of two more planned two-packs, "Brawn & Mudslinger" and "Gnaw & Gnash", were leaked to the public but were ultimately cancelled.
  3. Amazon-exclusive redeco.
  4. 4.0 4.1 TaoBao-exclusive redeco.
  5. Toys"R"Us Singapore-exclusive redeco.
  6. For whatever reason WFC-E28 was never actually used in the toyline. It is presumed that this ID number would have belonged to "Alternate Universe Optimus Prime" as he is the only figure in the Earthrise toyline to not receive an ID number.
  7. The "Deluxe Centurion Drone Weaponizer Pack" was sold with War for Cybertron Trilogy-branding, yet the figure received an Earthrise ID number.
