The Great Transformer War (トランスフォーマー大戦争 Transformer Daisensō) is a 3-issue manga which ran from May to July, 1987, as a follow-up to the 5-issue The Transformers manga series. The manga was written by Masumi Kaneda and drawn by Ban Magami. Like its precursor, War features the cast of characters from Transformers 2010 and, obviously, takes place in the title year. Despite some initial continuity errors, it still takes place within the continuity of the TV series.
War contains two different storylines, the first focusing on the Terrorcons and Technobots who have been upgraded by Doctor Dalton. The second storyline takes place between the end of Transformers 2010 and the beginning of The Headmasters, bridging the gap between the two shows.
