==Notes==
* Anyone who's ever looked at a globe will notice that the landmasses adorning Altas's armor are ''farcically'' out of proportion to the real deals. Italy ''alone'' being bigger than Africa, Antarctica and Australia? Good thing this whole series is ''really'' unconcerned with "realism".

The name or term "Atlas" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Atlas (disambiguation).
Atlas is a Transformer from the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Italy is bigger than Africa, apparently.

The lost sibling of Primus, Atlas is the hidden true form of Earth, a being of immense power capable of going toe-to-toe with any of his planetary brethren. Few know the secret of Earth, but myths and legends on both Earth and Cybertron have alluded to his existence with names such as Terra and Pangaiden.

There ain't nobody bigger'n this guy. He can be your best friend or your worst enemy.Joe Colton, "The War Never Ends"

Fiction

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

The first known humans to discover the secret of Atlas's existence were a group of Vikings led by Thor FalkenHauser during Europe's medieval era. From there, various other secret societies seem to have risen and fallen, passing down the knowledge of a secret "Pit" capable of awakening Atlas in times of great need.

By the modern day, G.I. Joe was the latest organization to inherit the knowledge of Atlas, with its founder Joe Colton kept in a cold sleep and entrusted with the secret. After Primus threatened to consume Earth's sun, the remaining Joes on Earth enacted the "Atlas Protocol", which involved awakening Joe Colton. Colton led the Joes underneath T.H.E. P.I.T., revealing the secret passageway to Atlas. Donning ancient Autobot-styled helmets, the Joes awoke Atlas just in time; transforming into his robot configuration, Atlas sucker-punched Primus squarely in the face, shattering the Dyson sphere surrounding the Sun and ending the threat to the Solar System.

In the aftermath, Atlas apparently went dormant once again, transforming back into Earth. The War Never Ends
