The Insecticon Barrage carries a sonic rifle. Sometimes, instead of having his sonic weaponry built into his superstructure, Rumble also sports a sonic rifle to perform his sound-based attacks. It emits a high-pitched whine.

Rumble used his sonic rifle against both the Autobots Optimus Prime and Prowl, and you. In one possible scenario, Rumble used the weapon to send sound waves rippling towards you through the earth.
