| The name or term "Grindor" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Grindor (disambiguation). |
- Grinder is a Decepticon from the Animated continuity family.

Grinder (グラインダー Guraindā) looks similar to Blackout and holds the same rank of "Airborne Soldier", but doesn't seem to share all of his overpowering attributes. He certainly shares Blackout's rather taciturn personality, though. He works particularly well with Oil Slick.

- Grinder
- Card number: D-032
- Part of the Transformers Cards series used in the Transformers Animated: The Chase and Transformers Animated: The Shooting arcade card-reading games, Grinder is rendered as a light-gray-and-aqua version of Blackout. He was first available in Version 3.0 of The Shooting, but was given new cards for both games in Version 4.0. The cards were available in packs of 5.
Notes

- Grinder is obviously an homage to Revenge of the Fallen Grindor, although the Romanization on the cards uses an alternate spelling. This is kind of fortuitous, as another Animated character based on a "Grindor" appeared in later fiction.
- The web site for the Transformers Cards series lists Oil Slick as an optimal partner-character for the 2-player Shooting game in the 3.0 series. However, the "optimal partner" data was dropped from the 4.0 listings. It is unknown if those were merely suggestions, or if they gave actual point boosts.
- Grinder has the Decepticon Heavy Brigade symbol on his engines. According to Allspark Almanac II, Blackout is the only surviving member. Yet Grinder has an Earth mode, not a Cybertronian one. Hm.
- A proper Animated character model for Grinder was revealed by an ad in the retail edition of "The Stunti-Con Job", which both promoted the then-upcoming AllSpark Almanac Addendum sections of the Transformers Collectors' Club magazine and teased appearances for a bunch of characters. Unfortunately, Grinder didn't actually manage to show up in The AllSpark Almanac Addendum. He was however included in The Complete AllSpark Almanac.
- The Blackout/Grinder body-type is also shared by Animated Venom and Bugly.
