Jazz is the head of Special Operations and has a whole unit at his disposal. Traditionally, however, Jazz has usually taken on the most dangerous missions himself. It's not ego, he's just the best bot for the job.[1]

2005 IDW continuity

[edit]

Autobot Special Ops was headed by Prowl, who intended it to serve a similar function as the Wreckers, only with subtlety instead of firepower. Most Autobots were unaware of their existence as they operated under a front group known as the Diplomatic Corps. Two Special Ops agents, Skids and Getaway, were ordered to track down Chief Justice Tyrest and force him to resign using a nudge gun, but their mission was a failure. Arm the Lonely

Notes

[edit]
  • The Special Operations division derives from Jazz's 1984 toy/character function of "Special Operations (Agent)".
