After Perceptor cured the Decepticons of their Cosmic Rust, Megatron repaid him by using him as a trap. Locked in his alternate mode, Perceptor was placed in Fox Creek Canyon, with a bomb which would be ignited by the sun's rays focusing through his lens at noon. Megatron then let Optimus Prime know where Perceptor was. Prime turned up with pretty much all the Autobots and proceeded to save Perceptor, exposing himself to the Cosmic Rust with which Perceptor was infected. Cosmic Rust
