[edit]These stories do not fit into the normal Marvel continuity. See Earthforce for details.
Project: Smear did not go well at first, as Soundwave did not find anything in Front Line! about the Autobots, Front Line! after their attempt to turn Superion into a destructive force failed. Inside Story! When they discovered that the Autobots were working with journalist Irwin Spoon, they sent the Stunticons to kidnap him. Front Line! With Irwin in Motormaster, Bombshell affixed a cerebro-shell to the human. The Autobots, not knowing any better, freed Irwin and let him go.
Project: Smear went along smoothly when Irwin wrote an article discrediting the Autobots. End of the Road!
