*"Mitteous" derives from the word "Mittyesque", which describes someone like the titular character from "{{w|The Secret Life of Walter Mitty}}", meaning: "[[Tailgate (G1)|an ineffectual person who spends time in heroic daydreams or intentionally attempts to mislead or convince others that he is something that he is not]]."<ref>{{citesocial|quote=“Mitteous” deriving from James Thurber’s [Secret Life of] Walter Mitty, which in turn gave us Mittyesque: “an ineffectual person who spends time in heroic daydreams or intentionally attempts to mislead or convince others that he is something that he is not.” Eh, Tailgate?|link=https://twitter.com/jroberts332/status/1632792509653852160|name=James Roberts|site=Twitter|year=2023|month=03|day=06}}</ref>

The Mitteous Plateau is the most fragile part of Cybertron's landscape.

[edit]

In an attempt to catch up with the Ark before it launched, Tailgate took a shortcut through the Mitteous Plateau. It cost him dearly, as he fell through the surface to a cavern below, where he was trapped. Slowly over the millennia, he inched towards his energon rations so that he could use them to blast through the ceiling and call for help.

Six million years later, Ratchet, Chromedome, and Rewind walked across the Mitteous Plateau on their way to the Lost Light. They were interrupted by Cyclonus and Whirl, who crashed in front of them from the sky. Just as Whirl was about to kill his opponent, a blast erupted from the ground and revealed Tailgate. The trio, completely bemused, decided to just take everybody to the Lost Light. How to Say Goodbye and Mean It

Prowl would later suggest leaving the Lost Light on the Mitteous Plateau as a monument to its crew. How To Say Goodbye And Mean It: Part 2 How nice of him.
