Eventually, however, the remaining members of the Defiance fought back by weaponizing "morphlings", an exotic species of micro-organism buried in the planetary crust. However, their efforts were for naught—Megasavage revealed that he'd created the Morphlings and turned them back against Nightshriek, permanently binding him to Megasavage's will and presumably allowing the Servicons to tighten their hold over the planet.
